RESCHEDULED: Parent & Teen Information Night - Cyber Threats and Internet Safety

***This event has been rescheduled. A new date will be released soon.***

We are happy to once again host a Cyber Threats and Internet Safety presentation on Wednesday, September 18th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the library.  Special Agent Dave Schroeder of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team (SOCET) is returning to give an in-depth presentation on the dangers our children face on the internet.  He’ll cover topics like grooming, sextortion, online privacy, age-appropriate content, sexting, solicitation, cyberbullying, adult online safety, and apps to be concerned about.  Special Agent Schroeder welcomes parents and older students (8th grade and UP). His presentation focuses on adult topics not suitable for children younger than 8th grade. If you want to get a handle on the potential for harm and liabilities arising from poor use of the internet, come this evening and get up to speed.
