Students have returned from Mod Abroad: Japan with countless stories and rich cultural experience
After a long journey, 26 students returned from their unforgettable tour of Japan. From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the historical sites in Kyoto, and finally to the peaceful beauty of Hiroshima, this trip offered them a rich cultural experience they’ll never forget.

The adventure began in Tokyo, where the students’ excitement was palpable. A highlight of their first day was the Tokyo Skytree Tower, offering breathtaking views of the city. Meiji Shrine was another favorite, offering a peaceful contrast to the city's energy.

Next, the group journeyed to Atami, where they stayed at an onsen hotel, experiencing Japan’s famous hot springs and stunning views of Mt. Fuji. A boat ride on Lake Ashi and the snow-capped mountains made for an unforgettable day. The students had an authentic traditional dinner that evening, and everyone was eager to explore more the next day. A visit to Nijo Castle in Kyoto followed, before some time for shopping and sightseeing.

In Kyoto, the students continued to absorb Japan’s rich history. They visited iconic landmarks like Kinkakuji (the Golden Temple) and the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, as well as the Kiyomizudera Temple, where stunning views awaited. They even had a memorable experience at a monkey sanctuary, enjoying both the animals and the peaceful surroundings. A sushi-making workshop in Nara added a hands-on touch, where students learned to prepare and enjoy their own sushi dinner.

The last few days were filled with highlights, including a visit to the impressive Himeji Castle and a trip to Miyajima Island, known for its stunning temples and scenic beauty. In Hiroshima, the students took in the Peace Memorial Museum, which left a profound impact on them. The food was another adventure of its own, from traditional meals to Japanese ice cream and the sweet treats at Mister Donut.

As the group made their way to Osaka’s Kansai Airport for their flight home, the sense of gratitude was clear. The students had not only seen Japan but also experienced its rich history, culture, and warmth. They will return with countless stories, photos, and memories, ready to share what they’ve learned.
